Mediating, networking, communicating

The Competence Center for Medical Technology (CCMT) serves as an active hub between academic research and development service providers and medical technology companies in Switzerland. Through targeted communication measures, the CCMT improves the awareness and visibility of affiliated academic institutions and their expertise within the industry.
About us
The Competence Center for Medical Technology aims to facilitate research and development projects in the field of medical technology and closely related areas. In addition, the CCMT supports national research and teaching in the field of medical technology. The foundation was established at the end of 2006 with the goal of further strengthening the sustainability of the excellent environment for Swiss medical technology. As founders of the foundation, the University of Bern and the Bern University of Applied Sciences support the concept of an independent hub that communicates specialized know-how, conveys innovative ideas, and networks leaders from research and industry. The foundation receives financial support from the Economic Development Agency of the Canton of Bern, the Economic Development Agency of the Canton of Solothurn, and its partners.

Research

On behalf of its academic and clinical partners, the Competence Center for Medical Technology seeks out and contacts companies in medical technology and related industries operating in Switzerland in order to inspire and initiate applied research and development (aR&D) projects and to act as a communications hub. The CCMT supports researchers and heads of academic institutions in making initial contact with industry representatives and serves as a translator and mediator between the different corporate cultures. CCMT partners also receive support in drafting KTI/CTI project proposals .     Another area of activity of the     CCMT includes PR and communications     tasks . For example, the foundation supports the Master of Science in Biomechanical Engineering,     which     was launched in the summer of 2006     by the Medical Faculty     of the University of Bern together with the     Bern University of Applied Sciences, Engineering and Information     Technology , in the form of press releases     and information measures for     interested students.
